History of the School:

Walter O. Krumbiegel Middle is a public school located in Hillside, N.J., which is in a small suburb.  Formally known as Hillside Avenue School, the school’s name officially changed on June 14, 1972, during a retirement celebration for Dr. Walter O. Krumbiegel, in honor of his 37 years of service to the Hillside school district.  Dr. Krumbiegel served as principal of Hillside Avenue School for 20 years and served the last 17 years as the assistant superintendent of schools.

The student population of Walter O. Krumbiegel Middle School is approximately of 400, and it serves 7th and 8th graders.
